The Drive Around the World Longitude Team will be made up of nine qualified individuals to fill the following
roles during the LONGITUDE expedition. The roles include:

Expertise
Candidates possess necessary expertise to fill role, displays resourcefulness in problem solving,
sharpness under pressure, well rounded.
Driving/Safety
Courteous driver, possesses sharp reactions, drives defensively, able to navigate to a precise location,
able to find a location using GPS.
Personality
High integrity, reasonable, logical, communicative, knows own limits, operates
acceptably on no or little sleep, capable of managing personal
affairs before and during expedition, able to take charge, team player: always looking out
for the best interest of the team, patient: ability to deal with uncertainty and unforeseen
delays, fortitude to see the project through, able to exist amicably without modern comforts and conveniences
(no shower, toilet, etc). Easy going, considerate, respectful, curious and
knowledgeble.

Longitude Expedition team selection weekend.
Candidate selection scenario will be a 4 day event starting in Los Gatos, CA. |

Notify final team. |

Team reports for duty.
First expedition expense payment, ½ due. |

Second expedition expense payment, balance due |

Longitude Expedition Departs from Parkinson’s Institute, Sunnyvale, CA |

Longitude Expedition Completed. Team discharged. |
You are responsible for the following expedition expenses:
travel expenses (airfare, boat/ferry, and local transportation)
meals
lodging, hotels and hostels. We will camp 20-30 % during the   expedition (approximately 81 out of 270 days).
visas and tourists cards
immunizations
personal affects and gear
licensing and travel insurance (HAM, SOS card, etc)
Estimated cost for items above with full sponsorship = $2,000
Estimated cost without sponsorship = $10,000
Note: Sponsorship requests begin June 1 and continue throughout nine-month expedition. Final cost is based on sponsor participation and will be determined on August 15.
What you do not have to pay for:
vehicle expenses
fuel
shipping
standard issue gear provided by sponsors
Payment deadlines:
entire amount must be pre-paid before departure.
½ due in team account by August 15.
balance due by September 15.
20% of budget surplus will be donated to Parkinson’s Disease research. Remainder will be refunded by July 15, 2004.
