Royal Geographical Society (RGS) World Register of Field Research Centers
The Royal Geographical Society (RGS) maintains a World Register of over 300 Field Research Centers. These centers represent places in the world where noteworthy natural or cultural research is going on. The Drive Around the World team will visit fifteen RGS centers, promoting the World Register, exposing the important science being performed, and affording students the opportunity to interact with scientists worldwide.

World Heritage Biodiversity Sites
United Nations World Heritage sites (UNESCO) are places of "outstanding universal value…for whose protection it is the duty of the international community as a whole to cooperate." Land Rover Dealers and Worldwide Adventure Sites
Land Rover Dealers and Worldwide Adventure Sites are exciting places to visit and, because the team is driving Certified Pre Owned Land Rover Discovery vehicles, these visits are likely to lead to some interesting encounters (and hopefully some neat off-road driving opportunities with our new local friends).

Parkinson's Disease Research Sites
Several members of the Drive Around the World team have family members with Parkinson's Disease. Instead of feeling hopeless they have decided to use their passion for adventure and travel to a greater good. The team has created a pledge brochure to raise funds that will support important research. They will also visit Parkinson's Research sites along the LONGITUDE expedition route, spreading awareness about this dreadful disease, and inspiring the researchers who will one day, cure it.www.parkinsonsinstitute.org

People
When traveling we are able to meet lots of interesting people. It is a lot of fun to ask people questions about where they live and what they are doing. A native is a local expert. Often times these people have different perspectives than we do. It is interesting to see what they value and how they perceive the world around them. These different perspectives often challenge our own.

Drive Around the World
While traveling you have the opportunity to do a lot of things that are not possible where you live. Traveling enables you to see how people live in various environments and it also allows you to experience these environments. Drive around the world team members take the time to see and experience people and places around the world.

World Bytes
A picture is worth one thousand words. World Bytes is a series of pictures, updated weekly, with captions that show what the drive around the team is seeing and experiencing. See the world through the cameras of DATW team members and enjoy the many interesting things and people we see along the way.

Animals
The Drive Around the World team is driving thousands of miles through all kinds of different terrains and habitats. During the course of the expedition we will be seeing all kinds of different wildlife, some very common and some endangered. We will learn what types of animals live in the different regions we travel and we will learn more about them.

Museum
Museums hold the keys to the past. The Drive Around the World team will visit museums in order to better understand the countries in which they visit. Museums often contain national treasures and display the success and the failures of the past. These are important reminders as we continously try and create a better environment for ourselves.

School
Schools are found everywhere in the world. Schools are one way in which we transfer knowledge between individuals. There are many ways in which information can be transferred from person to person. The Drive Around the World team will visit schools and see what how students are learning all around the world.

Factory
We buy and sell goods produced throughout the world. We sometimes overlook how these goods are transformed from raw materials into their manufactured forms. The Drive Around the World team will see how many goods are made and who the people are that make them.

Farm
Many humans rely on farms as a source of their food, meat, vegetables, fruits, grains, etc. We often forget the neatly packaged food in the store comes from farms around the world. The Drive Around the World team will explore farms around the world to see what kind of food is produced throughout the world and how it is produced.
