The Drive Around the World team visits the Tropical Science Center's Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve has earned its fame as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the New World tropics. Positioned atop the Continental Divide in western Costa Rica, the Preserve extends down both the Caribbean and Pacific slopes. The resultant combination of climatic and geographic factors creates temperature and humidity gradients which change dramatically over relatively short distances. The Preserve supports six different vegetational communities (Life Zones). There are over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 120 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 2,500 species of plants (among them 420 different kinds of orchids), as well as tens of thousands of insect species. Spectacular wildlife includes the Jaguar, Ocelot, Baird´s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Barenecked Umbrellabird and Resplendent Quetzal.

Asked... 1. How do you think that the trips going to help the find a cure for Parkisons desease? 2. Is there someone that gets you annoyed by the way he/she acts, and If so, how will you travel another 8 months with them? Did you do team building before this trip to prevent issues like this? Thanks Chris_Hauk@upland.k12.ca.us We are going to raise as much money as we can so scientist can devote their time finding a cure. We get annoyed at each other, but we know we have to work it out. Rather than get annoyed say what is on your mind, don't just get annoyed about it. There was a team selection weekend to choose potential team members. The most important characteristic we were looking for was people's ability to get along.
