| Pakistan and India do very little trading, but you can catch what little they do at their border at Amritsar. Pakistani porters in light blue carry goods to the limits of Pakistan’s border, where Indian porters in dark blue pick them up and transport them to the Indian customs house. Goods are swapped back-and-forth this way all day, with porters carrying boxes of fruit and other goods on their heads. They wear badges on their arms for identification. |
