These rock paintings are found in an area of northern Pakistan known as Hunza. It is thought that they were painted by visitors to the area who arrived via the ancient Silk Road, which is an old trading road used thousands of years ago by people from all over the continent. Today, we believe these people thought of the animals they painted as sacred.
